چکیده
In this Supplement, we provide four sections intended to amplify and/or expand on specific topics raised in the main text. The first section is an assessment of the data underlying Roeder and Emslie (1970) as given in an unpublished table made available by the senior author. We assess general quality and consider possible sources for the discrepancy in values between the canonical 0.30 obtained by Roeder and Emslie (1970) and the ~0.34 preferred in this study. Section 2 provides a detailed description of the projection technique used in the main text to reduce compositional dependences of on melt and olivine composition for literature data. In Section 3, we evaluate the sources of discrepancies between predictions of the Ford et al. (1983) and Toplis (2005) models for and our experimental data. Finally, Section 4 is a listing of all of the references for data incorporated into our database of olivine-liquid pairs from the literature. D,Fe+2 -Mg K

The origin of hydrous, high-dO voluminous volcanism: diverse oxygen isotope values and high magmatic water contents within the volcanic record of Klyuchevskoy volcano, Kamchatka, Russia
Klyuchevskoy volcano, in Kamchatka’s subduction zone, is one of the most active arc volcanoes in the world and contains some of the highest dO values for olivines and basalts. We present an oxygen isotope and melt inclusion study of olivine phenocrysts in conjunction with major and trace element analyses of Cand tephrochronologically-dated tephra layers and lavas spanning the eruptive history o...

The Southern Caspian Sea ophiolite complex (SCO) is one of the Late Cretaceous discontinuous oceanic lithosphere remnants in northern Iran. These complex is almost a complete sequence from bottom to top, ultramafic cumulates, layered gabbros, isotropic gabbros, dike complex and basaltic lavas which is covered by Late Cretaceous (Companion- maaestirchtian) pelagic limestone. Crustal ultramafic c...

Granitoid rocks of the central segment of Sanandaj-Sirjan zone, occurring in Lorestan Province, are parts of a continental arc setting intruded during Mid Jurassic time. Ultramafic rocks are adjacent to this felsic rocks with olivine, orthopyroxene, clinopyroxene and amphibole as their major rock forming minerals. Microscopic observations revealed rounded shape and occurrence of embayments in ...
متن کاملMagnesian Rock Types in the Lunar Highlands: Remote Sensing Using Data from Lunar Prospector and Clementine
Introduction: Several types of magnesian highlands rocks occur in the lunar samples including the mafic Mg-suite rocks, magnesian feldpathic granulites, and magnesian anorthosites. Some mafic magnesian rocks are easily accommodated into the magma ocean model, as large variations in Mg/Fe are expected as the magma ocean crystallizes, forming source regions for magnesian melts. The origin of othe...
متن کاملReaction Between Ultramafic Rock and Fractionating Basaltic Magma I. Phase Relations, the Origin of Calc-alkaline Magma Series, and the Formation of Discordant Dunite
This paper presents results of modelling reaction between peridotite and fractionating tholeiitic basalt in simple and complex silicate systems. Reactions are outlined in appropriate binary and ternary silicate systems. In these simple systems, the result of reactions between 'basalt' and 'peridotite' may be treated as a combination of Fe-Mg exchange and mass transfer reactions at constant Fe/M...
